Relics is the first black-owned analog film photography shop in California. Our mission is to bring accessibility and diversity to the world of analog photography to help tell stories, inspire people and to keep film alive. We strive to make film photography easy and love sharing it with people of all ages, from all backgrounds, all over the globe.

We are looking to hire a super proactive, results-driven Marketing Associate to oversee projects related to Marketing, including but not limited to: growth, Public Relations (PR), strategic partnerships, special initiatives, and media. This position reports directly into the Founder. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of brand development, marketing, and/or PR experience in the digital space, and will use that expertise to drive the Brand forward in support of the company’s goals.

Relics provides a very high-end experience for its customers and that experience must be maintained through all interactions, marketing and services provided. This individual will have a great impact in implementing marketing operations so our founder, Drake, can focus on growing this business to its full potential. We need someone we can trust to work independently, uphold and surpass all branding standards, and help the company thrive. An entrepreneurial spirit and growth-mindset is a must in this role, we're looking for someone to run marketing operations like it's for their own brand.

To be successful as a Marketing Associate, you should be well-organized while working with a high degree of autonomy. We are looking for someone who can identify business needs and then recommend and implement suitable solutions that help drive the business forward. Ultimately, an outstanding Marketing Associate should demonstrate excellent time management and communication skills at all times.

Job Duties

  • Project Management -- Under the direction of the Founder/Creative Director, own all marketing-related programs, projects and initiatives. Utilize company tools and resources to manage projects and events while driving communication and status updates with the team (experience with Asana is a plus!).

  • Growth Marketing -- Support the brand’s growth marketing efforts by developing marketing strategies and campaigns that support acquisition business targets and efficient CAC goals. Experiment and iterate quickly and efficiently by developing weekly campaign strategies across social (Twitter, Instagram, TikTok), Offline (influencers, affiliates), email, and content. This also includes diving into analysis of customer insights to improve customer understanding, strengthen customer acquisition and retention efforts, enhance targeted marketing campaigns, and drive key business strategies.

  • Content Creation -- Ideate and create content reflective of the Relics mission, with a strong personality, using creative approaches to format, structure and present of content. Be experimental with content; take smart risks with what you’re creating; be ambitious and original while staying within the guardrails of our brand. Turn one-off hits into successful repeatable series for Relics.

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Marketing Associate or relevant position with highly-proficient design and marketing skills; at least 2 years of brand development, marketing, and/or PR experience in the digital space preferred

  • Bachelors degree related to Business and/or Marketing is preferred; a growth-mindset and keen eye for detail is a must

  • Driven, results-oriented mindset with a track record of driving initiatives through to completion; demonstrated history of strong execution 

  • Must be an organized, self-managed worker with strong time management skills; the ability to work effectively in the face of ambiguity, shifting priorities, and competing responsibilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, while proactively communicating status updates, suggestions and concerns

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency, under a high degree of accountability 

  • Entrepreneurial spirit and positive mindset with a “can do” attitude; ability to set, manage and over-deliver on management expectations
